On the other hand, India’s one of the best opening batsman Gautam Gambhir is not included in the team squad to play against Australia. The selection committee has omitted him due to his worst performance in the previous matches and they have chosen Shikhar Dhawan to replace him. Harbhajan Singh has been included in the team due to his brilliant performances in last matches. The committee has especially added him so that he can develop a strong spin bowling attack along with Pragyan Ojha and Ravichandran Ashwin. With Irfan Pathan, Zaheer Khan and Umesh Yadav returning in the team after recoveries from their injuries, the selectors have chosen rocking pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar due to his outstanding performance against Pakistan and England.
Making the comeback to test cricket and retaining his Irani Cup trophy, Harbhajan Singh stated that they had faced lots of difficulties to make his comeback. But, if a person has faith on his abilities then no one can stop him and can be able to restrict him from his goals. He further stated that making comeback to play against Australia is an honor for him.
However, Suresh Raina has been ignored by the officials even after performing amazingly in the Irani championship in which he made one fifty and one century. After playing so, he was motivated and confident to be selected in the team squad for test series, but all in vain!
