Pakistan vs Sri Lanka Live

Sri Lanka won by 16 Runs

Pakistan is the only team to play all semi finals of all ICC World Cups. Pakistan and Sri Lanka played many times in the T20 World Cups. Last time they played each other in the Final of 2009 T20 World Cup where Pakistan beat them by 8 wickets.

In this tournament Pakistan has lost only one game and it was against India. And Sri Lanka also lost 1 game and that was against South Africa. Sri Lanka stood at top in their group with 6 points and Pakistan is 2nd in their group with 4 points.

This semi final has the great interest all over the world especially in Asia. The two top Asian teams are playing in this match. Sri Lanka has a great home advantage but on other hand Pakistan have a great support in this part of the world.

Pakistan has little edge over Sri Lanka in the T20 format. In World Cups they played each other 3 times and Pakistan won 2 times. Pakistan is little unpredictable side one day they play like the Champions and on other day they are like the club team. Their bowling is the strongest in this tournament and batting is little struggling from the top. 50/50 is the prediction of this match. Sri Lanka batting is doing well and bowling is also supporting them.

Sri Lanka top order looks very strong and in good form. Jayawardene batting has been outclass in the opening slot and Sangakkara is milking the bowlers as he always do. Dilshan was in the spot light before the start of this tournament but he fails to perform as expected to him.

They started the tournament with the new hard hitting opener but drop them as it is the trend of this tournament that all the hard hitters failed to make any impact except Gayle and Warner.

Their bowling attack looks very attacking and balanced as they have all kind of bowlers. Fast bowlers like Malinga, swing bowler like kulusekra, Leg breaker Mendis, Off Break A Mendis. They also have couple of good All Rounder like Mathews and Parera. Jawardene is leading the side very well and they look like to win this event. Akila Dananjaya will be the man to watch out as he is little bit different from other spinners.

Pakistan looking to be the best team in the 4 sides reaches the Semi Finals. They are the complete and balanced team. They have all 11 players who can win the match on one’s behalf. So it is very hard to win against them.

If any 2 players click from Pakistani side, they can progress to the final of 2012 T20 World Cup. Their opening looks very disappointing although both of their openers have the highest opening partnership in this tournament.

They are gambling with Imran nazir throughout this tournament and they yet to make any mark against the good team. The Professor always destroys the momentum of the Innings in recent campaigns. But the main hope in the batting order is Jamshed, Kamran Akmal, Umar Akmal and Shoaib Malik.

Now their lower middle order is also look good and strong as they brought back Razzaq to the playing XI. But they are hoping to get some runs and wickets from their Star All-rounder Shahid Afridi.

They have the best spin bowling attack in the world. Saeed Ajmal, Raza hassan, Hafeez, Afridi and Shoaib Malik all can bowl very well. They are little worry about their fast bowling department and hopes that Gull can deliver in this match.

Fielding is the main issue of Pakistan side throughout their cricket history. They always tend to drop catches and misfield on the crucial stage of the match.
