Their series will start from 8th March with the first test game that will continue till 31st March until the Twenty20 match yield any result. Before these matches, the Sri Lankan cricket board has also scheduled a warm up match with their Development Emerging Team XI. This match will be played from 3rd to 5th March so that Bangladeshis can be able to adapt the track conditions and can get familiar with the playing requirements. This will help them a lot as in this way, they can be able to formulate effective strategies.

The selection committee of Sri Lanka has elected numbers of new players for the tour and has selected two youngsters to be the captains. They have totally altered the team combination that has played against New Zealand three years before. They have chosen nine energetic and fresh talents that are under 25 or below. Of those nine players, five will be debuting in this tour.

Their most young player is Tharindu Kaushal who is an off-spinner and is only 19 years old. He has only participated in two games of domestic season. He also has brilliant list A record in which, he has got 22 wickets with the economy of 18.63. He was included for the first time in Sri Lankan squad against New Zealand in which, he did not step into the ground.

Ashen Silva is also the most secured youngster as he has made brilliant records in the domestic cricket. He made his debut in the year 2011 and proved to be the reserved opening batsman after Dimuth Karunaratne and Tillakaratne Dilshan. He is now motivated to give great contributions in the team’s score. Kithuruwan Vithanage is an in form batsman, he has made 85, 122 and 21 runs not out in his three innings throughout the season. Jeevan Mendis is a leg spinning all-rounder also performed brilliantly as he has performed 206 unbeatable runs over the weekends. Kushal Perera is the strongest attacker from Sri Lanka. He has also performed amazingly throughout the tour to Australia.

On the other side, the team management of Bangladesh has selected Enamul Haque after giving him rest for over three years. Batsman Jahurul Islam and pacer Robinul Islam are also returned in the squad whereas, Mominul is debuting his test career in this tour.

The team has not got the all rounding services of Shakib ul Hasan as he has got a injury due to which, he is expected to undergo a surgery to protect from some serious problems. Junaid Siddique, Elias Sunny and Nazimuddin are also omitted from the squad because of their bad performances since the last year. Their chief selector stated that Mominul and Enamul will compensate the absence of Shakib. Enamul is an efficient bowler who has taken 105 massive wickets of his career. Saqlain Sajib and Mosharraf Hossain also performed amazingly but Enamul is brilliant ahead.
